Organization profile
The department centralizes the areas of mathematics, physics, and biology at UCU. It provides services to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Faculty of Business Sciences, teaching undergraduate courses for their wide range of careers. It also teaches graduate courses for the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and the Doctorate in Engineering. One of its main objectives is to provide a differential for quality teaching.
On the other hand, the members of the department develop research activities, both in areas of basic and applied sciences, as well as in multidisciplinary areas, through cooperation with other departments of the University.
Its researchers work in dynamic systems, systems and control, complex systems, applied optics, metagenomics and genomics, and didactics of mathematics.
The department develops projects with the productive and business sectors focused on solving objective and specific problems.
In the teaching and research activities, the department contributes to society by participating in institutional projects of linkage with the environment.
