Organization profile

The Department of Neuroscience and Learning focuses on a multidisciplinary area that contributes to understanding mental processes and learning. In addition, it analyzes the interactions between neurobiological and regular and altered psychological events in neurodevelopment, emphasizing cognitive, emotional, and motor functions. In particular, this department focuses on cognitive neurosciences and learning. The significant advances in the studies of cognitive neurosciences on development and learning allow understanding of the brain in its structural and functional aspects, from regular development to the alterations that occur in the processes that are involved in human learning. This way, the relationships between the brain, cognition, emotion, and behavior can be identified. Within this framework, the Department of Neuroscience and Learning has as its main objectives the training of undergraduate and graduate students, the development of basic and applied research lines, the academic production, and the link with the environment in different areas of knowledge related to neurodevelopment, learning processes, and social cognition.
