Personal profile

Holds a Doctorate in Psychology and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Universidad Católica del Uruguay. He also holds a University Specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy from Universidad de Maimónides (Argentina) and an International Diploma in Contextual Behavioral Psychotherapies from Fundación CIPCO (Argentina). Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor with a high dedication at Universidad Católica del Uruguay, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses related to personality psychology, psychological assessment, and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. Additionally, he supervises an intervention unit focused on emotional skills at the Clínica Universitaria. He has contributed to the curricular redesign of the Licenciatura en Psicología in its 2021 and 2025 plans and works as an assistant editor for the journal Ciencias Psicológicas. He is a Level Iniciación researcher in the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores and has participated in various national and international research projects in the field of mental health.

Research interests

His research interests focus on mental health and clinical psychology, with a particular emphasis on emotion regulation—the processes through which individuals manage emotional states to achieve their goals. His work has explored both personal and interpersonal emotion regulation and their impact on anxiety and depressive symptoms. Additionally, he conducts research in the field of psychological assessment, with a special interest in the adaptation and validation of psychometric instruments in the local context, aiming to develop valid and reliable tools for assessing key psychological variables. He has participated in international studies such as COH-FIT, which investigates the effects of the pandemic on mental health, and leads the local edition of the UNILIFE project, which examines the relationship between lifestyle factors and mental health in university students. "
