Research interests

My job is part of the line of research on learning and its difficulties belonging to the Department of Neuroscience and Learning at the Catholic University of Uruguay. My research area is in written language, and it is of an applied character. Its main products are methodologies and instruments for teaching, assessment and intervention in reading and writing, specifically in spelling. I have integrated and directed research and development teams of technical products aimed at developing teaching methods for written language, improvement programmes in the learning of reading and writing and assessment techniques in the area of spelling. These products are applicable to the educational and psycho-pedagogical field, so I am responsible for transfer projects in the field of formal and non-formal education, covering different socio-economic and cultural contexts that contribute and provide feedback to both the educational and academic fields

Doctorate in Psychology from the Catholic University of Uruguay. Post doctorate in written language from the University of La Laguna (Canary Islands). Master in Psychopedagogical Intervention. Diplomate in Education. Degree in Psychopedagogy. Associate Professor and member of the research teams in educational inclusion and written language of the Department of Neuroscience and Learning. Academic Referent of the Master's Degree in Neurodevelopment and Learning and of the Ethics Committee; responsible for the Neurodevelopment and Learning Clinic of the Catholic University of Uruguay. Member of the editorial committee of the journal Páginas de Educación, reviewer of articles in indexed journals. Tutor of undergraduate and postgraduate theses as well as responsible for transfer and research projects related to learning and its difficulties. Advisor to national and international organisations in the field of education. Professional development in the areas of clinical, hospital and educational psychopedagogy, including the development of improvement and educational inclusion programmes.
