She is a doctor in Contemporary and American History (PhD) from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (Spain). Master in Immigration (social intervention and research) from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid (Spain). Graduate in History from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (option ethnography) and Graduate in Historical Sciences (research option in Universal History) from the Universidad de la República (Uruguay). Along with the teaching and research work carried out at Universidad Católica del Uruguay, she directs the Magellanes Chair: Travel and Travelers of the Institute of History, Art and Heritage, the Nisso Acher Chair of Judaism of the Institute of Society and Religion and is a reference for the Minor in Contemporary history. Carry out liaison tasks with the environment on immigration, responsible consumption and human rights issues. Performs consulting tasks for international organizations linked to migration studies.

Research interests

Her research focuses on migration studies, responsible consumption and the recent past. Her research results have been published in international indexed journals such as Latindex, Scielo, Redaly, Scopus and Web of Science, among others. Currently, she is directing research projects linked to migratory movements (Jewish migrants arriving in Uruguay between 1890 and 1946; migrants from the former territories of the Ottoman Empire between 1875 and 1932; foreigners deprived of liberty in Uruguayan prisons at the present ), responsible consumption (the role of consumption in human trafficking) and the recent past (women in hiding, exile and prison during the Uruguayan civil-military dictatorship). She is a highly dedicated professor and researcher at the Department of Humanities and Communication of the Catholic University of Uruguay and has a level I like a researcher of the National Research System (ANII).
