I am a full professor and director of the Department of Wellbeing and Health of the Universidas Católica del Uruguay. My areas of development have to do with health systems, health policies and health management. I was Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Health Technologies and the Faculty of Health Sciences. I am categorized within the National System of Researchers of Uruguay, carrying out several research, development and consulting projects within my areas of specialty. I am a visiting professor at universities in various countries and an evaluator of careers and university institutions for accreditation agencies in several countries. At the international level I have participated in several projects for the Pan American Health Organization, the World Health Organization and associations of different kinds related to health or education. At the national level I have worked in advisory and consultancy services in health institutions in different parts of the country. I have written several books, including ""Gestión de planes y programas"" and ""7 áreas claves en la gestión sanitaria"". Additionally, I have collaborated on different technical documents. I am currently vice president of the Ibero-American Association of Nursing Schools and Faculties.

My research focuses on the health systems, health policies, and health management, with a special emphasis in human resources and professional practice environment related with quality of healthcare, patient safety and health workers well-being.
