Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Research interests
Her research lies at the intersection of political economy and political behavior. Her work focuses on changes in the supply and demand for different types of distributive policies in response to variations in poverty levels. In particular, she examines how shifts in poverty levels influence public support for distributive policies and how governments implement and communicate these policies. Regionally, her research concentrates on the Americas, with a strong emphasis on developing countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. Her work incorporates a range of methods, including machine learning techniques, observational and experimental causal inference analysis, text analysis, and qualitative fieldwork.
