My research interests focus on the connections between religion and politics in the history of Uruguay, with a particular emphasis on the process of secularization. I also explore how Catholicism intersected with politics in the 1960s and 1970s, as a local example of a broader global context.

Personal profile

I hold a Ph.D. in History from the Argentine Catholic University, and I am a Professor and Graduate in History from the Catholic University of Uruguay. Additionally, I have a Master's degree in Research in Contemporary History from the CLAEH University Institute in Uruguay. As a committed teacher and researcher, I am a member of the Department of Humanities and Communication at the Catholic University of Uruguay. I am also a part of the National System of Researchers of the National Research and Innovation Agency. I have contributed to various investigations and publications related to the History of Uruguay, with a particular focus on the process of secularization and the relationship between the Catholic Church and the Uruguayan State. and the links between the Catholic Church and the Uruguayan State
