Research interests

Recognizing the diversity and complexity of contemporary families and the impact of contexts on their functioning, she researches family stress, parenting styles and behaviors, and father involvement, including gender, education, and socioeconomic status, in collaboration with researchers from other Latin American countries. She also researches mental health and its approach at the primary level of health care. She is interested in evaluating and adapting programs that can better respond to the psychological care needs of adolescents and their families.

She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Universidad del Salvador (Argentina, 2017). Psychologist and Master in Family Clinical Psychology from Universidad Católica del Uruguay. She has a specialization degree in Tertiary Education from the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology. She was the Director of the Bachelor's Degree in Psychology between 2009 and 2012 and the Director of the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology between 2017 and 2020. She is currently the Chief Editor of Ciencias Psicológicas journal and the Director of the Publications Unit of the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on Family, Psychological Counseling, Loss and Grief. She is a member of the National System of Researchers.
