Research interests

My current areas of specialization are Behavioural Economics and Experimental Economics. Specifically, I am interested in exploring how the presence of pro-social motivations, beyond purely monetary ones, affects the decision-making of economic agents in contexts of asymmetric information. To accomplish this, I use a combination of theoretical models (primarily drawing on concepts from game theory) and laboratory experiments. The latter aims to validate or reject the results predicted by the theory. Additionally, I have contributed to the literature on household finance and financial inclusion. In this line of research, I have focused on studying the level of financial inclusion among Uruguayan households and its determinants. I have also examined the behaviour of families in credit markets, exploring if there exist differences between households with businesses and those without.
