Research interests

I have participated in various research projects and have recently published articles on topics related to competitiveness and business innovation in reference journals. These projects, which have been financed by the Catholic University of Uruguay, the Uruguayan Government and national and international companies and institutions (such as the IDB, CAF or INALOG), are framed in topics related to my research focus. Many of them have been conceived and executed in conjunction with other research centers and/or foreign universities. My main research topics are related to regional and business competitiveness, innovation processes and the study of microeconomics from the perspective of clusters and well-being.

Personal profile

Doctor in Business Competitiveness and Economic Development from the University of Deusto (Spain), Master in Economics and Regulation of Public Services from the University of Barcelona (Spain), Master in Management of Telecommunications Companies from the ORT University (Uruguay) and Economist from the University of the Republic (UDELAR-Uruguay). He is currently an associate professor of the Department of Business and Administration at the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU). Professor of Economics I at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of UDELAR between 1993 and 1996. He teaches microeconomics at UCU, since 2004, in the Bachelor's Degrees in Economics, Business Administration, Business and Economics and Business Analytics, on the campuses. from Montevideo and Punta del Este. Profesor de Alta Dedicación (PAD) since 2013. Member of the SNI of Uruguay.
