Research interests

My research interests are in the area of Substance Use Disorders, especially alcohol and marijuana use in adolescents linked to mental health and psychological well-being. In the same area of research, I am interested in the topic of stigma in substance users and barriers to access health services.

She obtained a Ph.D in Psychology from the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU) and in Educational Sciences from Ghent University, Belgium, in 2017. She holds a Master's degree in Psychoanalytic Studies from the University of Essex and a Diploma in Group Psychotherapy from Middlesex University, England. She has worked in the area of mental health with adolescents, young people and their families for 18 years in therapeutic communities, National Health Service and private sector. She is currently a Lecturer and researcher (PIAD) at the Department of Psychology (UCU).
