He earned a PhD from Cornell University in 2007. He did postdoctoral work at the UC Berkeley department of mathematics and worked as an associate for the derivatives analysis group in Goldman Sachs international in London (UK). He worked as an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics at Universidad de los Andes 2011-2023 and joined the Department of Informatics of Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU) in 2023. He has held visiting positions at UdelaR and at the IMT in Toulouse (FRA).
