Research interests

My research interests focus on various aspects of the sociology of religion, with particular emphasis on Latin American reality. I have worked and researched from and on the theoretical approach of lived religion, in addition to working in other lines such as religion and its relationship with migrations, modernity and pluralism.

Researcher and professor at the Institute of Society and Religion (Department of Humanities and Communication) at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU) PhD in Social Studies of Latin America from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC). Active Researcher of the National Research System (SNI-URUGUAY). Member of the Board of Directors (Financial Secretariat) of the Association of Social Sciences of Latin America (ACSRAL) and part of the Directive of the Uruguay Sociologists College. Member of the Research Ethics Committee of the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. My lines of research include contemporary religious expressions from the perspective of lived religion and the link between religion and migration. I currently work on research on tattoos and transcendence, religious freedom, religion in migrants deprived of liberty, and Turkish migrants in Latin America.
