Abstract

A method for visualization of phase objects using incoherent illumination, which is based on the image enhancement due to an illumination gradient, is presented. The technique presented here is very simple to implement, and neither special optical elements nor complicated image processing are required. The method has potential application for gas-leak detection in industrial environments. Validation experiments are presented.
